Lena, Head of Legal
What do you do and how did your job evolve here?
I work as the Head of Legal for the EasyPark Group. Basically that means being responsible for all legal matters that we come across in our day to day operation. As an inhouse counsel for a multinational company you get to handle a large variety of legal matters within a lot of jurisdictions. With the recent acquisition of the ParkNow Group this scope has become even bigger which is super exciting! For me it is very important that legal matters and the work of my team is highly intertwined with the business operation and we often get to hear that we are not "the typical lawyers" which I take as a compliment. Or actually, I take it as a sign that the business has really understood what legal is all about. It is about bringing value to the business and not to be perceived as show stopper which is the old way of looking at lawyers. We always aim to be commercial minded with a strategic focus. One of my greatest achievements at EasyPark is the establishment of what we call the Open Market project where we passionately work for creating an open multivendor environment which will cater for true competition in the market which will lead to innovation to the benefit of both the end users and the cities. All in the aim of making cities more livable.
How would you describe the work culture at EasyPark and how can you sense this culture in your team?
What I love about EasyPark is that it is a truly collaborative environment to work in. We all join forces to move towards the same targets and goals. There is never any blame game or pointing fingers if anything goes wrong and if there are victories we celebrate them together. There is a spirit of "better doing the wrong thing than not having tried at all" which I love since that is the best way to move forward, progress and evolve. With that said, we obviously need to learn from our mistakes, but we do it as a team and we learn together. Another thing that I love about EasyPark is that you are always being listened to. If you have great ideas you are always welcome to bring them forward and we are always open minded to encounter new ideas and to adopt change. If you are up for it, there is really nothing stopping you at EasyPark in terms of personal and professional growth.
What gives you energy in your current role?
At EasyPark you would be able to broaden your horizon given that we cover so many jurisdictions and work with a large range of legal matters. A day at EasyPark is never boring and you will get the opportunity to grow both as an individual and in your career. We love collaboration and interacting with all our colleagues over the globe so you will get the chance to travel and build a network of your internal stakeholders within the group.
Our vision is to make cities more liveable! But what is the mission of YOUR team and what makes you excited about it?
We as a team are really passionate about exploring opportunities and, by adopting a strategic and commercial mindset, creating solutions and solving problems together with our stakeholders for the benefit of the company as a whole.
